Download registration form (Pfd) or print form (html).

Temple Emanu-El is sponsoring a day-long series of workshops to learn about and experience one of the newest movements in Judaism - Jewish Renewal. Jewish Renewal incorporates mystical and Kabbalistic teachings, music, and meditative practices into its worship services. The workshops will be led by Rabbi Marcia Prager, a renowned Renewal teacher, and will include prayer, teaching, music, and exploration of the history and challenges of creating a Jewish renaissance.

The workshops are open to all interested members of the Jewish community. They will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2008 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at Temple Emanu-El. The cost is $12 per person, and includes lunch and free child care.

Some background on Jewish Renewal (from the website: www.aleph.org)

Jewish Renewal is a worldwide, trans-denominational movement grounded in Judaism’s prophetic and mystical traditions. It carries forward Judaism’s perpetual process of renewal.

Jewish Renewal seeks to bring creativity, relevance, joy, and an all embracing awareness to spiritual practice, as a path to healing our hearts and finding balance and wholeness.  It acts to fully include all Jews and to respect all peoples.

Jewish Renewal helps to heal the world by promoting justice, freedom, responsibility, caring for all life and the earth that sustains all life.
