Adult Education

The Adult Education Committee will open its year with two Books and Bagels events and a brunch. At B&B, members bring reports on books of Jewish interest that they have read. Everyone is welcome with or without a book to participate in the wide ranging discussions and to enjoy bagels and coffee. Mark the following dates on your calendar:

  • Sunday, September 28, 10 AM – Books and Bagels

  • Sunday, October 12, 11 AM – Brunch: Unspinning the Spinners.

  • Sunday, October 26, 10 AM – Books and Bagels: THE BIG READ, a program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts to encourage people to read. Everyone in a community reads the same book and trained facilitators lead the discussions. We will read “The Shawl” by Cynthia Ozick, a short Holocaust novel – many copies are available at Monroe County libraries. We can also order copies from the local sponsor, Writers and Books, for $10.50 (a 25% discount) - if you would like a copy please contact Carl Wetzstein at carlw38@aol.com before August 25.
